To fully understand the client’s needs, Cosmic physically followed the entire material management cycle, from dispatch from its warehouses to use in production:

  1. Material Reception and Inspection – Verification of incoming materials, labeling, entry into the management system, and placement on shelves
  2. Simulation of an Order – Picking the required items for a single vehicle
  3. Workflow Optimization – After observing the picking and placement process in production, Cosmic identified the opportunity to group components into “kits” to facilitate operators’ work
Proposed Solution – Customized Kitting Service

Cosmic developed an innovative solution based on the creation of pre-packaged electrical kits, optimized for the client's production needs:

  • Standardized List – The client provided a list with the required quantities of Cosmic items for a single vehicle.
    Division into bags A (components used at the beginning of assembly), B (components for the intermediate phase), and C (components for the final assembly phase)
  • Creation of the "Piaggio Porter Electrical Kit"
    - Introduced as a dedicated sales item in the client’s management system
    -  A single box containing all necessary components, divided into bags A, B, and C
    - Optimization of internal logistics by treating the kit as a single item for warehouse and picking purposes
Results and Benefits

Thanks to the introduction of the Piaggio Porter Electrical Kit, the client achieved a significant improvement in operational efficiency, drastically reducing warehouse management time. The production optimization allowed better organization of components according to assembly phases, making the process smoother and more structured.
